Good morning Preds Nation! Wouldn’t like to listen to a great Jordan Tootoo interview with your morning coffee or on your way to work? Of course you do!
Well no worries! We have you covered. Check out the latest episode of the Preds Official Podcast linked below. Tootoo give an emotional interview about his alcoholism and how the Preds Organization helped him overcome it.
On February 2nd, the Dallas Stars played the Nashville Predators in Bridgestone Arena in what was to many, a very important game to be at. Former Nashville Predator Jordin Tootoo was being honored that day. This walk down memory lane pulled up all kinds of memories about the former 4th round pick in 2001.
Tootoo was known for bone-crushing hits and exciting fights. The power of his left jab is something that is burned into a lot of fans memories. But that’s not all. His earth shattering hits once flipped Micheal Frolik in what many believed was truly the hit of the year that year. His extra effort goal in the playoffs in April 2011, the list goes on and on. Although he wasn’t a superstar Jordin Tootoo has had one solid career.
Although Tootoo’s name is etched in the record books for most penalty minutes in Preds history, he should also be commended for his off-ice work. Part of why Jordin Tootoo was a fan favorite was his kindness and generosity. In 2011 Jordin Tootoo started the Tootoo Fund which was motivated by his brother’s death in 2002. With the goal of spreading awareness and support for suicide prevention. This in addition to his openness regarding his alcoholism has really made him a beacon of hope to many, there is no telling just how many people he has affected. That is the most important reason why he deserved to be recognized.
